The darkest night
Kevin was driving down the highway from a long day of work, it was a dark and rainy night, and Kevin was very tired from having worked all day, while he was driving, a lightning strike landed in front of the car and he crashed in a nearby forest, about two hours later Kevin woke up and realized he had broken his arm, he tried opening the door but it wouldn`t budge, he tried kicking the windshield, and it cracked open, he then crawled his way out.
Kevin realized he was lost, since he could`t see the highway, he tried using his phone, but there was no signal, so he decided to walk in a random direction, since eventually he had to get somewhere, or so he thought.
After having walked for around half an hour Kevin heard a howl in the distance, but didn`t pay much attention to him, soon he would pay for his negligence, as soon he was preyed upon by a pack of wolves. He tried to run but a wolf pounced him and forced him to the ground, however Kevin lit a flare he took from his car, and managed to scare the wolves, he took running.
After running for some time, he came upon an abandoned log cabin, he was freezing so he decided to get inside, he went inside and threw the flare on the floor to illuminate the room, he soon found an old lantern, he thought it would be warmer in the basement, and decided to check it out.
As he searched the basement he noticed something strange, there was a red stain on the floor, forming a trail, he decided to follow it, suddenly he came upon a gruesome scene, the trail ,was a trail of blood that lead to a pile of human bones and severed limbs , he tried to scream, but loud growl behind him cut him off.
A tall disfigured figure, with a large cleaver in his hand was standing between him and the exit, the figure charged him, and nearly cut Kevin`s head off but he dodged the strike and ran out of the basement, the creature chasing him.
As he ran through the cold forest, Kevin frantically checked his phone again, he had signal now, and called 911 for help, they told him they would arrive soon, some time later he came upon another highway, he could hear the screams of the creature chasing after him, had to wait for the police to arrive.
As he heard sirens in the distance the dark figure catched him by surprise and attacked him, during the struggle Kevin`s left arm was cut off, but the police arrived just in time, but by the time they arrived the creature was gone.
